Huntingdale Junior Football Club was established in 1983 by a group of hard working local volunteers. Nestled at Sutherlands F Reserve in Huntingdale, in between the much larger clubs of Thornlie and Gosnells, the Blues have always been the family club from it’s beginnings at South Suburban Junior Football League to the current Perth District zone.

The Blues have produced AFL footballers Dominic Cassisi (Port Adelaide) and Ryan Hargrave (Western Bulldogs), with many of our young footballers going on to play WAFL Colts, Reserves and League for Perth, South Fremantle, East Fremantle and Swan Districts.

Today, we are still the same family club dedicated to providing our junior footballers from Pre-Primary to Year 12 with a happy, fun and safe environment to learn and play the game of Aussie Rules football.

HUNTINGDALE JUNIOR FOOTBALL CLUB
DISABILITY ACTION PLAN

The Huntingdale Junior Football Club recognizes that it is unlawful to treat a person with a disability less favorably than a person who does not have a disability, in the same or similar circumstances. # people with disabilities, their families and carers have a right to participate as fully as possible in the life of our communities
# people with disabilities are the primary source of information regarding the physical, social and cultural barriers to their participation in their local community.

The Huntingdale Junior Football Club will develop and implement a Disability Action Plan which will focus on those physical, social & cultural barriers which create a handicap for people with disabilities to be able to enjoy football at our Club.

Basic elements of the plan will include:
1. Education of Club members
2. Education of visitors to the Club
3. Identifying specific issues at our Club that can make life unnecessarily difficult or complicated for
people with disabilities
4. Develop strategies to deal with these issues
Specific elements of the plan will include:
1. Clearly defined disabled car parking areas at the football ground
2. Disabled toilet facilities
3. Access to canteen facilities

SMOKE-FREE POLICY

RATIONALE

The Huntingdale Junior Football Club recognises that passive smoking (inhaling second-hand smoke) is hazardous to health and that non-smokers should be protected from tobacco smoke. Huntingdale Blues Female Football program has grown remarkably since inception in 2018.

Starting from just 6 girls in the Year 3/4 Age Group in 2018, in 2023 we were able to field 3 dedicated female only teams in Year 5/6, Year 7/8 & Year 9/10 age groups firmly – with over 70 girls participating and establishing a solid foundation of a Female Pathway in our District.

Our Year 7/8 Girls and Year 9/10 Girls both became the clubs historic first female Grand Finalists, with Year 9/10 Girls winning the first ever female premiership flag for The Blues

Games are played Friday nights for all age groups (some Sunday fixtures possible for Youth aged Girls teams) against clubs in the Perth District, Swans District and East Perth District.

Training days and times are dependent on oval availability at the conclusion of the registration and team nomination period.

Huntingdale JFC participate in Female Only Competitions and are seeking players in the following age groups:

* Girls Junior Year 3/4

* Girls Junior Year 5/6

* Girls Youth Year 7/8

* Girls Youth 9/10

* Girls Youth 11/12
